Observation Details
Images that are not purely decorative, must have a purpose equivalent text alternative set, to be accessible if the image cannot be visually perceived. A prime example is a blind screen reader user. But also if an image cannot be loaded due to network issues, the text alternative ensures perception of the conveyed information.
Observations:
Hero image text alternative duplicates heading
Device images text alternatives duplicate existing text content
Icons
camera icons show different camera setup but all use the same text alternative; differences are not available as text and as such must be included in text alternative
A17 chip alt text includes information not available in the image
M4 chip alt text duplicates existing text content
Remediation Notes
Ensure purpose equivalent text alternatives are present for every non-decorative image. Depending on the purpose, the text alternative may be describing the contents of an image or the functionality it serves (e.g. as a link to a specific page).
